Located in beautiful downtown Sisters, Oregon, The Studio was the creative teaching space of distinguished art educator, university instructor, and former school principal, Annie Painter.
All ages were welcome for workshops, courses, and special events.
*Annie's teaching studio closed December 31, 2017. Annie will once again do her own artwork and teach her adult and children's classes at schools and community sites as available especially in Central Oregon, Los Angeles and Portland, Oregon.

Fall 2017: Annie is working in two Central Oregon schools and will offer a limited number of children's classes as follows at the Studio, Larch & Main, Sisters:
Home school art club $60 (full) Structured & creative. 9/12, 10/10, 11/14.
After school art studio (K-8) (full) Arrive after public school dismissal time, stay until 5. Relaxed, choice time and focused project instruction including extreme architecture inspiration and model making from found and packing materials. Plus will include some or all: drawing, painting, collage, printing. $85 Mon and Thursdays: 9/11,14...10/9.12...11/13,16. Bring snack.
Pre-School parent child art, (space available) creative play, snack and story. 1+ hour. $10
Parents assist, block creations, finger paint, printing and more.
Bring snacks. Minimum 4 (8 with parent) 10-11AM 9/13, 10/11, 11/15.

Annie Painter is a former award winning Oregon elementary principal with experience as an elementary classroom teacher (kindergarten and grade six), exhibiting soft sculptor, curriculum specialist, middle and high school fine arts teacher. She spent three years as a national arts and literacy coach.
Annie has created The Studio to share her love of art with the Sisters community and others who travel to study with her. The goal-- establish an environment that inspires imagination, skill-building, and personal expression for artists of all ages.

Past Teacher Workshops and Graduate Courses
Annie was on contract with Portland State University Continuing Education in the Graduate School of Education through which she provided her courses on request to individuals, teams, school districts or organizations in Oregon and at her studio.
2020--Re-located to Portland. Not teaching through PSU.

Example of 1 credit class:
Two six hour days working with Annie in her studio in downtown Sisters plus 20 additional outside hours creating lesson plans, making teaching tools, gathering resources for several lesson designs.
Practicum plan may involve a wide variety of media and goals.
Color and design links visual art (color mixing, paper tooling, design elements and principles, simple drawing and painting and cut paper creations) with specific content objectives, especially in science, language arts and social studies.

SAMPLE Fee: 1 graduate credit PSU credit fee $62. Tuition to Annie Painter $195 (2=$295, 3=$395 for tuition. Credit extra at $62 quarter hour grad level)
Space is limited. 5-8 students ideal. Enjoy a long lunch break in downtown Sisters, a five minute walk to most restaurants and shops from Annie's studio.
